White pages are empty

Asked by Russell Curnutte

I am in UK and am trying to connect to some body in USA. They are Windows XP, I am UBUNTU Feisty. When I doubleclick on White Pages I get a ¨Found 0 users in Ekiga White Pages¨. I am told that I´m listed as registered but cant be reached. When I try to connect to some body they are ¨unreachable¨. When I dial 500, the test works. I have the required libraries and I am using broadband cable connection. I have re-installed ekiga but same results.

I had something similar to this.

It is due to blocked ports on your router, people cant call you because the router sees it as a agressive attack and blocks it.
In reverse, when you call others, I think the router sees an outbound attack from your machine

500 works because iirc correctly its either on a different port or web adress

White pages i am not sure about

I disconnected my router, reconfigured ekiga (It correctly found I didn´t need NAT support). The problem has not changed. Incidentally the White Pages did work when I originally installed ekiga, but for some reason stopped working. I cant think of anything that could cause this.

Hi,

I suspect the service to be down at the moment... I'm contacting the man in charge...
