The ubuntu eclipse package is out of date

Here is my configuration :

ubuntu 16.04 LTS 64 bit
eclispse 3.8 - 3.9

The eclipse packages is out of date

source : the eclipse official website

http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/packages/release/Neon/M6

Question :

Could you help me to make a package with the last eclipse release ?

You could also report a bug. If the bug and security fixes in the new version are significant then the package will be updated sooner.

Hello,

The ppa eclipse verion is eclipse-java mars 4.5.2.

The new eclipse version is eclipse-rcp-neon-M6-linux-gtk-x86_64.tar.gz

could you help me please to update this package ?

You can:

* build and install that version from the original source on your own system
* look for a PPA that has that version already
* create your own PPA with that version
* wait until the official packages are updated (this can perhaps be stimulated by creating a bug report)

I do not see any other possibility.

Hello,

My question about eclipse packaging.

How to make a .deb package from the eclipse tar.gz package witch depend openjdk or oracle java package and install eclipse in correct application folder ?
