it looks dovecot version is 2.2.9. will there be an package update for dovecot 2.2.10 (latest release) in trusty before LTS release?

If you report a bug to alert the devs to the newer version as well as the bug and security fixes then it may be updated. Ubuntu is not a rolling release so packages will not be updated without good reason. If there is little gain then other packages with greater issues will be prioritized.
