Please fix DOSEMU & FREEDOS so they work on Feisty & Gutsy
I upgraded Edgy to Feisty with less than satisfactory results. When it asked me whether to "keep" or "replace" my /etc/dosemu/
This could have been catastrophic if I hadn't had the foresight to image my Edgy system. Imagine losing 12 years of data because DOSEMU no longer works. This is a critical error, IMO, that needs fixing immediately in both Feisty and Gutsy if I am ever to upgrade.
Thanks for listening.
Joe

Joe,
Please file a bug on luanchpad, detailing the problems you had. That will get the attention of the right people.
Thanks. Dave
I filed a bug on launchpad. Hopefully this will be resolved/fixed soon.
Joe
Hello Joe,
When I run
apt-cache search dosemu
on my copy of Ubuntu 7.04 32-bit, I get this:
console-cyrillic - Better Cyrillic support for Linux console
xfonts-terminus-dos - Fixed-width fonts for DOS encodings
dosemu - The Linux DOS Emulator
dosemu-freedos - FreeDOS package for DOSEMU
xfonts-dosemu - VGA font for the DOS Emulator
so it seems all packages you are looking for are available for installation. Are you sure you enabled all required repositories in /etc/apt/
I can try to install any packages from the list above to make sure they can be actually installed if you wish
Hello, Dmitry.
Please try to install DOSEMU. Then, try to install dosemu-freedos. I get a message about unmet dependencies.
Hope this helps and they fix this "issue."
Joe
Did this, here is the output. Can't see anything wrong with it. Let me ask again: are you sure all required repositories are enabled?
