ubuntu can not use partimage on dmraid.

Asked by Nishihama Kenkowo

on Fedora, I smarty can backup my raid-array by partimage. eg . /dev/md-x

fedora $ partimage -z1 -o -d -b save /dev/md-x /media/r2d2/ubuntu-raid.bz2

but partimage can not use on ubuntu. I can not see /dev/md-x.

Can I create /dev/md-x ?
any idea?

I'd like to use mainly ubuntu on my PC.

In Debian (and ubuntu) the MD arrays are in the form of '/dev/mdx' not '/dev/md-x'

Also this is not to do with dmraid but mdadm!

The dmraid device nodes are created in /dev/mapper in Ubuntu.
So look in there for your device nodes.
