Do you want to join videos ? Then you need some special software http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Free_video_software

Are you able to play the video normally with movie player in Ubuntu ?

When I doubleklick on the video digikam says: " there is no program for playing that video", with a rightklick I can play it vlc or totem.

Earlier I used PCLOS 2007 and there was a videoplayer "integrated" in digikam. I could see the first picture of the video and a doubleclick played the video. This is what I'm looking for.

Hi,

i have the same problem with DigiKam 0.9.3 under Ubuntu (using Gnome 2.22.2). Is there any plug-in that we have to install in order to playback the videos with a simple click directly out of DigiKam?

@marcobra: Do you think there is something to do "globally" in ubuntu?

Can you help with this problem?
