Epson Stylus CX5000 printer set to Unbuntu,sofware disc give direction for Microsoft Window98E,2000XP, or Mac 0SX10.28-10.4x, need help to set up printer.

Try to install Epson StylusCX5000 printer will not work, the instruction on the disc is for Microsoft Windows98SE Me, 2000,XPX64 Edition or MacOS X 10.28-10.4 need help. I have ask for help before I was told that I needed to go into the driver and encode for that printer. I need more instruction on how to install this printer. I also need help on instruction about sending pictures from my desktop onto and e-mail address to send to friends.

The CX5000 doesn't appear to be in the gutenprint project but similar numbers are.
When adding the printer if you manually select Epson - CX5100 does it work, or some other similar model number?

Choose System > Administration > Printing. Click "New printer" and follow the instructions. Your printer Epson Stylus CX5000 is supported.
