Unable to crop as the word crop is not usable in digikam

In Digikam I want to crop, so I click on Image, then click on Edit, and the picture comes up in another window.
I click on Transform, and everything there is written in dark colour, but crop is faint and unclickable.
Why?

You should first select a portion of the image before you can crop it to the selected area ...
