LUA_SOURCES_MANGLER in Precise

On Precise, the Lua sources for a PPA package end up in the wrong location, because Precise has only dh-lua 11 which doesn't support LUA_SOURCES_MANGLER. I was thinking about just putting a newer version of dh-lua into the same PPA, but was wondering whether there is a better solution. If you have any ideas, that'd be great. Thanks!

I guess putting an updated dh-lua version in the same PPA as your other packages should work.

Another idea: You could try requesting an official backport of the dh-lua version 19 package to precise, see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuBackports This might help also for other PPAs and/or packages.
