Deluge causing Movie player to break internet radio

Asked by Rajinder Sandhu

When ever Totem player is playing a internet radio and Deluge is running at the same time. Totem stops playing internet radio we need to stop and start the playback, but when we stop Deluge downloading then there is no problem. that is happening even if we bring the download speed to 60 kbps. Where as with normal downloads at 240 kbps Totem is working fine. So can there be any configuration which can set the Deluge right. My basic interest is both Totem and Deluge should work together without breaking the Totem internet radio. I have tried different players like VLC, Audacious and different torrent downloaders but it is happening on all the combinations. Whereas I am having good 2 Mbps connection and i am downloading at 240 kbps even for torrents. Si if internet radio is to be listened and recorded we need to stop torrent programs.... is it a bug? i am using Ubuntu 9.10 with latest updated version. Totem and Deluge both are latest versionns...pl see my next mail for their versions.
Thanks

Try gating the bandwidth deluge uses. Deluge will attempt to max the speed used to download the file fastest. This will obviously gobble all your bandwidth and stop internet radio playing smoothly. You can control delue's speed use so it does not use 100% of your speed and therefore allow other apps to use your connection without harming performance.

Another thing....since it is breaking frequently I would like to know if we can make it to keep trying the connection automatically till connection is made with the server...that is in case of server problem or misbehaving of Internet link...
Thanks
