Deluge Won't Start - Keep Getting An Error

Asked by taurus

I got ubuntu 8.04 and I had installed the latest version of Deluge through synaptics. Deluge was working fine for a day or two. Afterwards, when I try to bring it up, it wouldn't show and I'd get this message:

Sorry, deluge bittorrent client closed unexpectedly
If you were not doing anything confidential (entering passwords or other private information), you can help to improve the application by reporting the problem.

Then, it gives me th option of reporting the problem or restarting the program. I've tried uninstalling then re-installing the program but that doesn't fix the problem. How do I fix this problem?

Please open a Terminal from the menu Applications->Accessories->Terminal and type:

rm .config/deluge/persistent.state

then try

if this don't solve please type:

rm -fr .config/deluge

then try again

hey marcobra, thanks for the reply. I actually deleted the Deluge folder completely aling with uninstalling it. I then reinstalled and now it seems to be working just fine. If this problem occurs again, I'll definitely try what you suggested an let you know the results. Thanks again!
