Deja-Dup doesn't mount backup partition (local, single drive)

Asked by James Erwin on 2017-11-30

Under Artful Aardvark, Deja-Dup does not automatically mount the target backup partition (local, single hard drive). I have to access that partition by looking at its files under "Files", then starting backup. Then, there is no detail description of the running backup. I have no indication whether the backup has crashed or is continuing until it completes, giving me the standard completion message.
I had no such issues under prior OS versions.
I use the standard login, not the X-org or Unity options.

The details read out return if I run it on Xorg, but the access to the backup partition remains.
