Reporting same behaviour as previous expired question: starts but won't play music (found previous question at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/decibel-audio-player/+question/295602).

Other sound players, Rhythm Box, DeadBeef, play fine.

Excellent player, anxious for its return :)

1. Why did you create a new question instead of continuing in the other one?

2. Have you seen https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=810249 which as a consequence has lead to the removal of that package from the Ubuntu repositories for 16.04

I installed it from the deb file available from its website.
