Installing on 64MB system

Asked by willz06jw

Is it possible to install (from the alternate install cd) to a 64mb machine now or does it still stall out at "storing locales"?

Thanks,
Will

localedef (the program used to generate locale definitions) does unfortunately still take a lot of memory. It should work *eventually*, but it may take a while - conceivably, hours.

(This will likely depend on whether you've set up swap in the partitioner, how fast the disks are, etc., which is why I can't give you a definitive answer. All I can say is that it hasn't actually stalled.)
