https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/MinimalCD

Just copy the link and change the word natty to maverick. Why not just use natty? You can log into the ubuntu classic session and it will run like maverick does..

Here the thing. I know I can take that mini and install Ubuntu and Lubuntu.

Just by doing this

sudo apt-get install python-software-properties

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-desktop/ppa

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install --no-install-recommends ubuntu-desktop

or for lubuntu:

sudo apt-get install python-software-properties
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:lubuntu-desktop/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install --no-install-recommends lubuntu-desktop

And it will work am I right?

Remember to MD5 test the ISO and if you are using a CD, burn it as SLOWLY as you are able

You can install the minimal ISO and run the commands you gave, yes. I suggest you use a wired connection as setting up a wireless connection in command line may be difficult for you
