raw files and nef files processing

Asked by Thierry

Hi,
I´m a photographer and use Raw/Nef files processing a lot. I need to squeeze the last drop of picture quality from a camera: It means that I take pictures in camera native format (NEF or RAW) and edit them on the computer, then I extract a high res TIFF or a high res JPG. With XP, I use Phase one´s excellent Capture One which has a lot of picture editing options. If I go with Linux, is there a program that allows me to do the same?

Best regards

Thierry

Use dcraw. It's pre-installed in Ubuntu. For further information:

And if you want thumbnails for your RAWs, just type the following in Terminal:
sudo apt-get install gnome-raw-thumbnailer
