dash does not contain "system"

Asked by Teunis Ott

I recently upgraded my lsptop to Ubuntu 12.4 . Mostly in order to create a bootable memory stick
for my sick workstation. (Sent in several questions, not resolved yet).

In a recent response I was told: go to dash -> system -> administration ->startup disk creator.

My dash does not have a "system" button.
It has "System Settings" , System Monitor" , "System Testing" , but no "System".
And none of these has "Administration".
when I type in "System" I get the above, and more, but no system.

I have more problems than this. They have to wait.
One is irritating, though: I I have anything open in a workspace and then open dash, the two are
superimposed and both unreadable. At this point this is secondary.

Help me with "System" etc. Many Thanks. Teun Ott.

If you type 'start' into the Dash search bar you should see what you are looking for.
