Hi,

As far as I understand from http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1017400 , Lexmark does not provide proper Linux drivers (contrary to HP and Epson). Your printer does not seem to be in the list https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HardwareSupportComponentsPrinters/LexmarkMultifuncPrinters ; are you sure this printer is supposed to work with Ubuntu?

By the way, your problem looks quite similar to this bug, even of it it is not the same printer model: bug #254750.

See also https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cupsys/+question/14073 . This looks rather pessimistic though.

Look carefully in the support section of lexmark.com

There is now a Debian installer for this printer, I used it and it workd in Ubuntu 10.04 LTS.

OInce downloaded and extracted, you will end up with a big .sh file.

From command line:
sudo ./filename.sh (whatever the name is).

Can you help with this problem?
