need brother 150c printer driver for network printer please

I need to access a brother 150c network printer but it is asking for drivers and search does not find the drivers

I'm assuming you mnean Brother DCP 150C which according to this site works perfectly:

Seems to use the bh7 driver. Install it with:

sudo apt-get install brother-cups-wrapper-bh7

When you use ubuntu yuo are a user, sudo gives you admin power (only users in the 'admin' group are allowed to use gksudo /sudo)

Windows just allows all users access to everything, this also includes the java and flash applets they run. If they contain malicious code then they can access and edit anything they like. This is why root is disabled and logging on as root is heavily disuaded. The browsers and all web apps you run will be ran as root and have this infinite access. Sudo fixed your issue as the driver was most likely writtent to the system area rather than home which you do not have access to as a user.
