How to Kill a print job in Ubuntu 8.04

Asked by Herman

I saw the answer to question 55229 and went to Applications, Accessories, Manage Print Jobs and the tag said "Cancel, pause, resume, or reprint jobs" and the window says "Document Print Status" which is "processing" but no option for cancelling the job is given.

The surest way is to turn of the power, it won't break anything except the printing queue.

I tried turning off the power, and the process is still running. Any other ideas will be appreciated.

I finally killed the print job by uninstalling and reinstalling the printer, an HP 660C Deskjet.
