Permissions problem while installing printer driver

Asked by hick2297

im back peoples, this time with printer probs, if i try loading the ppd file, or just letting ubuntu find the driver......it gives me a error says i dont have propper permissions, even when logged in as root.......i cant remeber the exact error so i i'll repost that later.....but after finding printer, setting it up, it searches for driver (or gives me the chance to put ppd file) works fine till that, then when i go to install it,.....says i dont have proper permissions,....i've checked the printer forums on multiple site, and havent found anything pertaining to this.....so if you gusy can help, id really appreciate it.

Have you tried to do this;
1- In terminal write : sudo jockey-gtk
2- When the programs loads , activate the printer driver

if any problem happens , just post it here.

Good Luck ;)
