Hi,

In that case, I think you will need to go into the Synaptic Package Manager to install some missing dependencies.

To launch Synaptic, choose System > Administration > Synaptic Package Manager.

Then install the following dependencies:

gcc-c++
libstdc++
compat-gcc-34
compat-gcc-34-c++
compat-libgcc-296
compat-libstdc++-33

After that, please retry the command

/usr/lib/cups/backend/z600

Regards,

Mark

Hi,

Or you can do this:

Try installing this first by opening a terminal window (Applications menu, Accessories)

sudo apt-get install libstdc++5

The try rerunning /usr/lib/cups/backend/z600

Mark

Anyone having new experiences with this install procedures???

Lexmark X1290 still doesn´t work on my system. Following the procedure above ends with:

rph@rph-laptop:~/Downloads$ /usr/lib/cups/backend/z600
/usr/lib/cups/backend/z600: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

What steps are needed to get my X1290 working???

(note: Installed Ubuntu 10.04)
