can't use my new canon mp240 printer with ubuntu

i just bought a new printer, Canon Pixma MP240, but like most new hardware linux can't use it because there are no available drivers.
i've search everything that i can think of but have no found anything helpful.
can someone please help me to use my printer.

p.s. i can't just use windows to do it because i don't currently have any working windows machines (go figure)

any help is welcome
