According to comment #203 (among others) of this thread (http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=49714, page 21) the given howto in that thread works ok for Lexmark x1270 and it seems they're using the CJLZ600LE-CUPS-1.0-1.TAR.gz you can get at Lexmark site here: http://downloads.lexmark.com/cgi-perl/downloads.cgi?ccs=229:1:0:427:0:0&searchLang=en&os_group=Redhat&target=. Not too many options: it's the only one you can get there.

I suggest reading all the thread to verify (it's a hard work but lexmark all by itself is hard).
