Problems printing on Canon MF4150 and cups

Asked by Tam Ngo

Hi,
I installed Linux_UFRII_PrinterDriver_V310_uk_EN drivers from Canon Asia website. Syslog recognizes the printer and I can install the printer but when I try to print a test page, nothing happens even though it says it successfully printed the page.

Here is what I tried:
1. Installed Linux_UFRII_PrinterDriver_V310_uk_EN drivers (64 bit Debian drivers using dpkg -i).
2. sudo apt-get install libc6:i386
3 . sudo apt-get install ia32-libs << failed as this is replaced by lib32z1 & lib32ncurses5
4. sudo apt-get install lib32z1
5. sudo apt-get install lib32ncurses5
6. sudo ln -s /usr/lib /usr/lib64
7. sudo ln -s /usr/local/lib /usr/local/lib64

Read somewhere I needed to use alien to covert debian files. I chose not to do this.

Syslog shows:

Mark, you are a genius!

By running the install.sh in the default Canon drivers, printing from my MF4150 is working.
