Xerox Phaser 3200MFP Network Scanner does not work

Asked by Timeu

Hey guys, the problem is... I have a Xerox Phaser 3200MFP conected to my office network. All Windows hosts are perfectly working but Ubuntu hosts are not. At the Windows hosts there's a program to configure an ID so the scanner can send the images to the correct host but there's no such program to linux...

What should I do now?

Please read this:

http://sane.10972.n7.nabble.com/troubleshooting-Xerox-WC3220-network-scanning-td17520.html

I quote:

"the development version of the sane xerox_mfp backend lists support
for 4 networked scanners. Your scanner is not one of those 4. So, the
place to start is to connect the scanner directly to a machine running
a recent version of sane-backends, and see if you can make it work
over usb? "

The following page shows that the sane xerox_mfp backend can only communicate with the Phaser 3200MFP via USB, not via the network:

Hi Mark,
I can not see your posts here and I dont know why... I received 2 e-mails with your answers but this is the first i'm realy seeing in here...

so, if it only supports 4 and mine is not there... and for the Phaser 3200MFP theres no network support, I guess I'm quiting for now... The problem is: Our scanner is bronken and we are trying to use this Xerox Phaser that it's not ours... It's kindda borrowed hahahaha... So I can not take it from there to connect to an usb here or even there...

But... thank you guys for the helping answers...

It is possible to hide comments, if the comments do not apply to the current question or if they are not a correct answer to the problem at hand. When I realized my mistake, I hid the comments #2 and #3.... That is why you cannot see them here.

Can you help with this problem?
