Canon MX870 Printer Doesn't Print

I'm using Ubuntu 12.10, my printer was working fine even after I upgraded to 12.10, then it just stopped printing. I went into CUPS and re-installed it and that seemed to work, I was even able to print a test page. When I tried to print a document it says print complete but the doc doesn't actuall print. I tried printing a PDF and an e-mail doc, a window flashes thats says printing and another comes up saying print complete, but nothing has actually printed.

How did you configure and setup the printer?

I used CUPS to configure and set-up.

I rebooted the computer, now I'm able to print everything except PDF files. Is there a fix for printing pdf files?

I found the fix on another Ubuntu forum; I installed the CUPS pdf driver and that fixed my pdf printing problem.
$ sudo apt-get install cups-pdf
