adobe print problem

when i try to print a file from adobe reader 9 then adobe sends a very huge file to printer and ultimately my system freezes,any help....

What is the output of :

lsb_release -a; uname -a; dpkg -l | grep acroread

If you open the same file in evince does it do the same thing?

when i open with evince then most of the time evince shows a blank page (that's why i uses adobe) and if sometime evince is able to open the file then it sends 0k to printer and hence no print.
