Asked by Keith Bryan

My present printer/copier has broken and I need to replace it. Is there one which is recommended that is compatible with Ubuntu?

See here:

Personally I have never had any problems with either Brother LAN based printers or HP USB printers. HP are probably slightly easier to install but both work well.

I suggest you pick one then post the full Manufacturer and model name here to see if anyone has got the same model and if there are any known problems.

HP printers rock under Linux due to HPLIP. Check the HCL for HPLIP for HP printers you can access and afford.

I recently bought a Epson Stylus NX430 wireless printer that works great with Ubuntu Precise and/or Quantal. Cost $60.
