printer canon pixma mp560 do not print

Have bought Canon Pixma MP560 printer. I do not have windows only ubunto but my earlier printer worked fine. What am I doing wrong as it wont print.
If I borrow a windows laptop, it works fine. Do not understand what has changed from my earier canon printer.
Does having Wifi cause any issues. If so I do not know how to turn it off as i want to use printer cable as before.

lsb_release -a; uname -a

Please follow these instructions:

In the instructions, when the installer asks "Select the connection method.[1]", please select 1 to choose USB instead of network printing.
