how to install canon driver mp490

I am a new user ,I have got a problem.
I have downloaded a Canon MP490 driver.but I do not know how I must do to install it
Can you please tell How must I do to install it?

Extract it and there will be deb files, install the deb fles for you architecture

I am sorry,I give it up because it is impossible to print with ubuntu .I have downloaded this printer with a windows very old version just for a try windows 98.
I can print.
It took me ten minutes to install my printer.

I have been working for three weeks with ubuntu and in my opinion it is terrible.
I must explain to you

I put in my terminal these complete
w get http:// files.canon-europe.com/files/soft37269/software/M490_debian_driver_pack.tar

tar xvfMP490_debian_driver_pack:tar

tat zxvf cnijfilter_mp490_3.20_1_i386-deb.tar.gz

cd cnijfilter-mp490series-3.20-1i386-deb/packages/

sudo dpkg-icnijfilter-common_3.20-1_i386.deb

sudo dpkg-i cnijfilter-mp490series_3.20-1_i386.deb

There were right in my terminal

But at the moment I still cannot print ,When I try to print ,I can have only half of my page printed.

This is the reason why ,I give it up.

Do not forget I am not a computer buff and a new ubuntu user

If you delete the printer and turn off the printer and reboot the system it may help. Log back in then when the system has settled, power the printer on
