printer will not print, cant print instructions

Asked by Marjorie Smith

query :204171. This was my problem. Having got in touch with Lexmark, they have found out that Ubnntu has not finalised the appropriate drivers for 12.04. As I have just installed this version, and have no previous experience, I am absolutely flumuxed as to how to procede! What can the next step be? I have no information about the "sudo" issue and nothing seems to work. I did have a reply to my earlier request , but it asked for the complete answers from the terminal. These were numerous, I did not understand them, and the printer wont print them off! I have bought many books and magazines including "Linux Genius Guide" but there is nothing to solve my problems.Perhaps I should have stuck to Windows and I`m very sad about the whole business. e-mail <email address hidden> Any helpful suggestions would be welcome , Thanks, Marjorie.

Hello,

You can find Lexmark drivers in the Synaptic Package Manager. To answer the above question copy the above requested info line and the go to Accessories/Terminal. Paste it and copy the output and paste it in to this question.

Don't give up yet.

Allan :)
