Cannot get my Dell printer to install and print

Asked by Caitlin Hochstedler

I cannot get my Dell All-In-One Printer 924 to install on my Ubuntu system 76 laptop. I have plugged in the USB and gone through the steps with the printing application and supposedly installed the printer, but it won't print. It shows it being installed and will put print jobs in the print queue, but then it won't print them out. There's no error message or anything, nothing happens. I'm probably not doing something right, but I'm just not sure how to do this since the drivers disc that came with my printer when I got it a few years ago doesn't work when I put it in my laptop. This is what it says in the printer properties box: Idle - Sending data to printer.

Copy the command I gave and press CTRL+ALT+T
Paste the command in the terminal and hit ENTER
Copy the output and paste here as an update

Thanks

(Not everyone knows the terminal, it's dead handy)
