Asked by Narayan Bishnoi

I am ubuntu user / advertiser to promote awareness to public about Ubuntu over windows.
Presently using 10.04 LTS.
I have purchased a All in One Laser Printer "Epson Aculaser MX14", with belief that Ubuntu driver will be available.
This printer is presently supplied with windows driver and I am unable to find its Ubuntu driver anywhere.
Contacted Epson, but they expressed inability to provide ubuntu driver support.

Please help me

May have a driver. HP have fantastic support for Linux. I suggest you buy HP in future.

No way o directly install this printer in linux: This is a windows driver printer, it doesn't use standard protocols. Learn the lesson and tell everybody to buy only brands with multi os drivers, Linux included. In the mean time follow the excellent how-to @ http://justin.yackoski.name/winp/ to put it working via a windows machine. Scanning is possible and easy to configure: Just install a ftp server on your local machine and configure th printer to drop the documents there. Wait for the surprise when you need to buy a new toner...You can then decide to buy another (non-epson) printer and save money.

An easier way to accomplish the same result can be obtain via printfile ( http://www.lerup.com/printfile/descr.html ). If you feel uncomfortable with python and Win32 Extensions installation, download printfile and configure it to use the spool and conversion features, using the shared folder where you are dropping the ps files and any of the previous conversion solutions (pdf or ghostscrip). Printfile is windows 7compatible, it's not opensource, but it's freeware and quite easy to use.
