Ubuntu 12.04 printer driver supplied for PIXMA iP6000D prints rubbish

Asked by Philip Harmer

Please help. Have just updated from 11.10 and I find I cannot print with my Canon iP6000D printer. The test page prints rubbish and any documents printed from Libreoffice are similarly rubbish. I think the driver supplied is wrong. Please can you tell me how to obtainer a suitable alternative?

P.S. If I attach my wife's iP4000 it prints the test page correctly, but this driver produces half size print when used with my iP6000D.

Delete the printer and reboot then resetup the printer.

Thank you for your recommendation. Unfortunately I have tried this solution several times and each time I get the same result; printer prints rubbish.

Sorry I still need help.

Head to the Canon UK site and grab the driver there, install it then remove the printer and readd it

Can you help with this problem?
