the printer is a kodak esp5. The driver is c2esp i got it from the internet and the computer is asus ul80v. I have had the broken count error since installing the driver and would like to get rid of it completely. I didn't need it before and I can print on not scan

Sorry, the Kodak company does not support any Linux. Actionparsnip knows of a project that may help. Were you using Windows before?

I just learned that there are some Kodak drivers out there. This changes things. You taught me something. What scanning program are you using? Go to Ubuntu Software Center: type "scanner" into search box. Many programs, I use Slimple Scan and Xsane.
