I installed a system with Oneiric and the same printer worked out of the box in all ways :)

1) attached the usb printer cable as you would to any printer
2) google "epson printer linux driver" and you'll get a link to avasys who makes drivers for epson
3) download driver for your printer model
4) TADA!

should work as soon as you connect it and power it on. I didn't have to lift a finger :)
