cdrom will not open media/msetup4.exe

Bouhgt a new Canon PIXMA MX882 printer. Have a Win XP OS. However, after inserting the CD ROM, it wont open the automatic install. I click the MSetup4.exe and I get the error message MSETUP4.exe is not a valid Win32 application.

The CD is of zero value to you. The setup file is for Windows. Ubuntu isn't Windows. It is a distribution for GNU/Linux

Canon often make Linux drivers. Did you check their website for support?

google "canon asia" or "canon europe". one of those sites will have a linux driver for your printer
