you don't need wine. what is the output of-

lsb_release -a; uname -a

thanks

the driver cd you have is for windows. ubuntu isn't windows so it is of zero value to you.

The Canon printer is newly purchased....It belongs to the Pixma MG8200 series.... the model is MG8250.....it might be so new driver updates for Linux aren't yet avail......I was told Canon load a Linux driver in the CD driver folder ...not so.
I thought if I could use WINE to fudge the MS driver installment all would be OK..... Is there an answer??....Richard

Canon don't seem to make a driver, you could see if there is a mg8000 driver. You could also try the postscript driver to see if it works. Canon driver is still really half assed but its better than some (Kodak refuse to support linux)

Can you help with this problem?
