Need canon mp530 driver

I am new to ubuntu, tried to get my printer working, and could not. I have a Canon Pixma MP530, usb printer, and tried the MP 520 driver, but it didn't work. How do I get my printer to work?

google "canon asia" or "canon europe" and download a linux driver for your printer model from one of those sites.

I could not find drivers from canon as suggested but I found this advice http://superuser.com/questions/50828/looking-for-a-driver-for-my-canon-mp530-printer-for-linux-ubuntu
It suggests installing MP500 rather than MP530. It works for me.
