Driver from printer model tvs dot matrix

I am now using window XP professional . when I am connected to INTERNET do wires. it arise all my files . Now i am interested in Ubuntu . I am using TVS dot matrix printer.kindly guide me to install the printer in ubuntu.

TVS is the make: they are an Indian company specialising in Indian language dot matrix printers for business and industry. There appears to be PPD files around for some TVS printers, but I'm not sure that just the PPD alone is enough? It seems that they ship with Windows drivers and Linux is not mentioned anywhere on the company website, which is also poor in the area of technical support as there is no driver download area, Windows or otherwise. There's a chance that the printers are modeled on some basic printer standard such as Epson dot matrix.

Yes, we need to know the model of printer. If you google "linux driver TVS" and the model number you may find more information.

If you have the PPD then try it, it may just work :)
