How download and install driver from Canon-asia (Singapore)

Asked by Carter

Running Ubuntu 10.10 on ancient Hp desktop. Coexists with windows XP
I have a new Canon printer (Pixma MG5220) that runs fine with windows, but have had trouble finding a Linux driver for it.
Found driver at Canon Asia ... in Singapore. I downloaded the code but don't know how to install it and / or check it out.
(What I have done doesn't work.)

We have a second problem : Can't get wireless working with new router. Using a USB stick from Cisco to match their E1000 router.
Again, Windows runs OK, Ubuntu doesn't.

Wireless used to be OK before we changed the router, so I guess we are running a newer coding scheme that 10.10 doesn't like.
Whatever it is, the real problem is this is my wifes machine and there will be no peace until she gets back on line.
Thanks. Carter
