epson Stylus NX415 printer issue

Hi I have a epson Stylus NX415 printer and i can't get it to work with my ubuntu 10.04 system. I have downloaded the drivers for it and in the read me it told me to run " rpm -i epson-inkjet-printer-escpr-1.0.1-*lsb3.2.i486.rpm " in the terminal but all i got was a message saying i needed to use "alien" to install rpm packages and im really confused on what to do. My goal is just to be able to print documents.
