My Canon Pixma MP495 cannot connect with my netbook.

I bought a Canon Pixma MP495 printer knowing that there would be some problems with compatibility with Linux/Ubuntu. But I enjoy using Ubuntu 11.04. I couldn't not connect it through the USB and definitely have no idea how to connect it wirelessly. I used the Printing set-up but it could not detect any drivers for my printer. I don't really feel like purchasing yet another printer and want to see if it is possible to make this all work.

Printer driver worked but scanner driver didn't.
