I need a driver for a cannon pixma mp990

My wife's fancy new cannon pixma mp990 printer is not in our list, is there any way to get a driver that will work with it? also will it work with the scanner section?

 Checked cannon, they now allow OS selection of Linux, bit found no
applicable info

Thanks for the help, The wife can afford a fancy printer, but screams what good is that Ubuntu if you have to buy drivers, I had many replies to that, now she doesn't talk to me.;^)
