is there a driver for Epson Workforce 520 printer for Ubunto 10

Asked by Andy Copanas

I have a wireless printer, Epson Workforce 520 that is a network printer. How can I install the driver? From CDROM? or is there a way from Ubunto software? I can print on my Windows laptop, but not on my Dell Desktop running Ubunto

Accordingn to OpenPrinting.org your Epson Workforce 520 printer works perfect in Linux. [http://www.openprinting.org/printer/Epson/Epson-WorkForce_520_Series]

You just need to download and install epson-workforce-525 driver from http://www.openprinting.org/driver/epson-workforce-525

You can download deb package (the equivalent of exe files in Ubuntu Linux and Debian Linux) from that website.

Here is the direct link:

For Ubuntu/Debian 32-bit:

http://linux.avasys.jp/drivers/lsb/epson-inkjet/stable/debian/dists/lsb3.2/main/binary-i386/epson-inkjet-printer-workforce-525_1.0.0-1lsb3.2_i386.deb

For Ubuntu/Debian 64-bit:

http://linux.avasys.jp/drivers/lsb/epson-inkjet/stable/debian/dists/lsb3.2/main/binary-amd64/epson-inkjet-printer-workforce-525_1.0.0-1lsb3.2_amd64.deb

Jose,

You are the best! I downloaded from the 32 bit site above, installed the package, did "Add Printer" and it was up and running
in about 5 minutes. Now I can use this as my Network printer, connected via wireless to my router.

Thanks again,
Andy

After installing the Epson Workforce 525 driver through the Ubuntu Software Center, it was indicated that the driver was installed. When I clicked on Add Printer there was no such driver. I'd like to know why this procedure is not working. Thanks.
