Installing the Lexmark printer driver in Ubuntu 10.4

Asked by Fred Hopper

I am Trying to install the lexmark supplied printer driver from here:-
http://support.lexmark.com/index?page=answers&startover=y&locale=en&userlocale=EN_US+&productCode=&segment=DOWNLOAD&question=UBuntu#1
and when doing so I am asked to supply Authentication in a window which says:-
"This operation require root (Administrative) privileges. Please enter the Administrative password below."
I enter the Administrative password (which I used to install Ubuntu - The same one that I use when running the Ubuntu Update manager) it is not recognised.
What am I doing wrong?

Many thanks this pointed me in the correct direction, I actually got it to work using 'sudo' rather than 'gksudo' and Lexmark also put up a new driver on the 20/9/2010
