When I try to install "*common*.deb." from the downloaded Canon Linux driver pack (Driver/Debian) it shows "Error: Wrong architecture 'i386'". What does that mean? What should I do now?

The software cointained into the external Canon deb package is for 32bits release of Ubuntu
Please look for a 64 bit package and install if there are any on the Canon site...

You may have to use 32bit due to Canon's poor support. This is one reason why the download page states 64bit is "Not recommended for daily desktop usage"

Some hardware manufacturers still lack 64bit support.
