Driver for Canon CanoScan LIDE 200 Scanner ?

Asked by Schreiber

I want to buy this scanner. I can't find a driver for linux (kubuntu 10.04-64). I wrote to cannon Deutschland, but i do not get an answer until now. Is there any plan make it working in linux ?? Or do know a way to make it working? - (I have read the websitehttp://mp610.blogspot.com/2008/04/give-your-scanner-new-freshly-sane.html and "A developer at the Sane project is finishing up adding support for the Canon Lide 100 and 200" on http://lovinglinux.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1161276)
Thank you..

Excuse me, my question is not for cups, it is for sane. I don't know how to change this. I have read this FAQ https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cups/+question/90331 und have made the mistake. Sorry.

Yes it is usb based. But I did not buy it as yet. If there is no solution for linux-kubuntu, i will not buy it. Thank you.
