I just want to confirm that the exact same situation applies to me: All my printer configuration consists of adding the print server to /etc/cups/client.conf and pre 12.10 that worked perfectly. Now, my printer dialogues don't show a thing, AND (not sure if the bug-originator tested this) trying to open the printer settings dialogue from the System Settings results in "bad client error" from cups.
